Olivier Paesbrugghe, Application Architect and Consultant
I work as an application architect at
ECS, one of
Europe's leading logistics groups. From its headquarters in Zeebrugge, ECS runs
integrated supply chain and intermodal transport across more than 35 European
countries, moving over 70,000 containers a year and operating the largest reefer
fleet in Europe. I'm part of the IT management team there, so I get to shape both
the architecture and the direction it serves.
Devminds is where I build my own products. Two of them are live and serving
paying customers, which keeps me close to the code long after the design is
finished. I write the migrations, own the deploy, and answer the phone when a
ticket shop is under load twenty minutes before a match. That is the best way I
know to stay honest about which abstractions genuinely earn their keep.
If you're building something where correctness under pressure matters as much as
shipping quickly, that's exactly the work I enjoy most.
